- OUR VISION
A Church for all.
In the trust in Jesus Christ who accompanies us, we are called to be a Church in witness of Jesus Christ that goes out to meet everyone;
A Church freed from the logic of “territories”,
Testifying day by day, through its various communities and with other churches, of its belonging to the living God and valuing the talents of each one.
We commit ourselves to being a Church through which people pass, transformed by the joy of Christ and his compassion for human suffering.
So people who know why they want to be part of it and who have expressed, in one way or another, the will; This means that we have to think about membership, how to support the Church financially, etc.
That is to say, a Church that is not exclusive, that dares to go out to witness, not to oblige; this has consequences on the organization of places of contact between society and the Church, on the location of our buildings, on priorities for presence in non-ecclesial places. We must move from a Church of all to a Church for all.
That is to say, a Church which no longer lives according to the only model of geographical or thematic divisions still valid in some places, and not at all in others. A Church that has the courage to shake off the yoke of an inflexible organization by lightening its structures. A Church that accepts not to be everywhere all the time.
A Church that testifies daily, with its various communities, of its belonging to the living God and values the talents of each one. In other words, a Church nourished by the daily relationship with God and the full recognition of each one of its members in what he can bring to the common witness. We must rethink the relationships within the community, between ministers and volunteers, but also reflect on the assumption that there is no community without a minister...
We commit ourselves to being a Church through which people pass, transformed by the joy of Christ and his compassion for human suffering.
A Church that celebrates its God with renewed praise and consistency of daily actions in a suffering world. This has consequences on our ways of celebrating, singing, and being present with the most disadvantaged in our society.
- LIVING OUR VISION
Our commitments, in everyday life.
We wished to become again a Church that bears witness. In order to further clarify our commitments, we are called to be a Church of Jesus Christ.
- WHAT WE BELIEVE
Declaration of Faith
Resulting from the Reformation of the sixteenth century, Mission of the Church of God of Favors through the various expressions that have been given to it in history. Without attaching herself to their letter, she would like to give an account of her faith today, with the help of the Holy Spirit, in the service to which she is called.
In the face of the uncertainties of our time, we place our trust in the living God, Creator of heaven and earth, Father of all humans: “God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” God reigns over history and will bring it to an end in his Kingdom. He is the God of promise and the Lord of the future.
Our faith is based on the person and work of Jesus Christ, the Servant of God, crucified under Pontius Pilate and raised from the dead, the only Savior and Mediator who gave himself for the salvation of all. He invites us to live not to dominate, but to serve.
The Holy Spirit, source of life, recreates and guides our existence. He speaks to us through the Holy Scriptures, allowing us to study them freely, with respect, and to interpret them as closely as possible to our consciousness. The Bible reveals to us God’s plan and the meaning of human life. Listening to the Gospel is at the heart of our search for truth and all renewal, both personal and social.
The Church of Jesus Christ transcends the boundaries of denominations called to recognize themselves in a spirit ecumenical. Local and universal, visible and invisible, sinful and forgiven, it is a community of believers in which all have a task. Its vocation is to announce salvation, break down unjust barriers and be a place of reconciliation.
The Christian community testifies to our contemporaries of the grace of God. Baptism is the sign of God’s love and a new life. The Lord’s supper is the meal at which the Risen Christ makes us live in his presence and brings us closer to one another, whatever our origins.
The Reformation asserts personal responsibility and freedom. Committed to the values of social justice, peace and tolerance, Protestants, along with others, denounce, wherever necessary, the dangers of idolatry and violations of human rights. They proclaim the gratuitous forgiveness of God, awaiting the fulfillment of the divine promise of the new heavens and the new earth “where justice will dwell”.
